We cannot Become what we need to be by remaining what we are! Max De Pree
It has often been said, that the proof is in the pudding! And this continues to be the case when it comes to the amount of scientific information that has been compiled over the last few decades, on the importance of regular physical activity and good nutrition to maintain a healthy body.
This information has been vital in helping researchers better understand how a healthy diet and regular exercise affects the disease process and what role a healthy lifestyle plays in preventing disease.
Despite all that is known about eating healthy and exercising there continues to be a growing gap between what is healthy and what a large majority of U.S citizens and those of other Westernized countries actually participate in.
Chronic Disease is preventable!
Fact: Research shows that approximately 40% to 50% of all cancers are caused by the typical American Diet, a lack of physical activity, and a skyrocketing growth in obesity. Research also shows (believe it or not), that cancer is for the most part a preventable disease. Test also show that if a person eats 5 servings of fruit and vegetables per day, the chances of contracting cancer can be dramatically reduced.
In spite of all the information available today on health and nutrition, still only about 16% to 20% of Americans eat the recommended amount of fruits and veggies per day. And most Americans fail to get enough physical activity to even break a sweet, much less to receive any health benefits at all.
If you were to ask most people to name an illness or condition that persist for years, no doubt the responses that you would get include several of these: cancer, heart disease, stroke, diabetes, Alzheimer’s, arthritis. These diseases are known as “chronic diseases” and are responsible for 7 out of every 10 deaths in the United States. Chronic diseases are by far the most common and costly health issues to treat. The sad fact is that most chronic diseases are preventable.
People just don’t develop chronic diseases over night, these health issues are a result of years of unhealthy living. The sobering fact is, that everyone (children, teens, young adults, adults and seniors alike) that eat the typical American diet and don’t exercise are in the process of developing chronic diseases. We see it daily with the rise in type 2 diabetes in children, the rise in heart attacks and ultimately increasing the risk of developing some sort of cancer.
So where do I start you might ask? One of the first and easiest areas to start in can be found in something as simple in the water you drink. Drinking Ionized, Alkaline, micro-clustered water will drastically reduce the risk of chronic disease and add years to your life.
- A six-year study published in the May 1, 2002 American Journal of Epidemiology found that those who drink more than 5 glasses of water a day were 41% less likely to die from a heart attack during the study period than those who drank less than two glasses.
- Drinking the equivalent of 5 glasses of water daily decreases the risk of colon cancer by 45%.
- Drinking the 2 litres of water a day decreases the risk of breast cancer by 79%
Here are a few more things that you can do to help add years to your life and prevent chronic disease.

Are Vegetarian 1.5 years
Exercise Regularly 2.4 years
Eat Nuts five times a week 2.5 years
Have normal blood pressure 3.7 years
